About Photo & Craft
Photo & Craft is a fine art photography edition house in San Francisco. We partner with a curated roster of photographers to produce museum-grade limited editions — proofed, printed, hand-framed, and shipped from our studio.
Beginnings
Patience, Intention, Craft
Photo & Craft began with a love of creating, with a passion and constant want to learn and make. It began 30 years ago in the darkroom at my aunts house, it began in the woodshop in my childhood garage smelling of finely milled wood, of the quiet satisfaction that comes from building something carefully and watching it find its place in someone's home. I started this studio because of the love for making. I wanted to dedicate my days to doing exactly that — and because I believe photographers deserve a partner who treats their work the exact way they made it: with patience, intention, and real craft.
Every edition that leaves the studio is shaped by three perspectives: what an artist hopes for when they hand off a master file of a cherished photograph, what a collector notices when they unwrap a finished art piece, and what a framer understands about how a work will live on a wall — not for a season, but for a lifetime.
Our Approach
Museum-Grade, Made Personal
Photo & Craft is a fine art photography edition house based in San Francisco. We partner with a curated roster of photographers to produce museum-grade editions — printed, framed, and shipped from our San Francisco atelier.
Every work we produce is made to order using the same materials and methods trusted by museums and private collections worldwide.
Our Studio
Permanence by Design
Located in San Francisco, our studio houses color calibrated Canon wide-format printers, the highest quality film drum scanners, a dedicated framing workshop, and a color-controlled viewing room where every print is inspected before shipping.
We work exclusively with archival materials — pigment coated inks, cotton rag papers, acid free adhesives, and UV resistant conservation clear glazing — chosen for permanence, not profit or convenience.
Our Team
Skill That Shows
A production studio is only as good as the people working inside it. Our team brings together decades of experience in wide-format archival pigment printing, custom hardwood framing whose work has been featured in galleries and museums across California, and a working photographer's eye behind every proof and final inspection — all under one roof.
We deliberately stay small. Growth by headcount tends to mean growth by shortcut, and in this craft there are no shortcuts. A framed edition from our studio passes through fewer hands than it would at a larger operation — and every one of those hands knows exactly what it is doing. When you receive a print from us, it was not assembled by an anonymous line. It was made, checked, and packed by people who take pride in it.
Working With Artists
A Partnership, Not a Service
We represent a small, deliberately curated roster of photographers. Our model is not volume — it is depth. When we take on an artist, we commit to producing their editions at the highest possible standard for the entire life of the edition.
Every new edition begins with a studio visit, a proofing session, and a conversation about paper, presentation, and intent. The artist signs off on a master proof before the edition opens. That proof lives in our archive. Every subsequent print matches the master, every time.
A print is a collaboration — between the artist who made the image, the studio that built it into an object, and the collector who lives with it for the rest of its life. We see our part as the bridge between the first and the last. Our goal is simple: to put a piece into your hands that we'd be proud to hang on our own wall, and that you'll want to live with for a lifetime.
A print is the photographers work made permanent. Our job is to honor that — every time, every piece, every detail.
