Return Policy

We stand behind every edition we produce.

Each print is made to order in our San Francisco studio on calibrated, museum-grade equipment, inspected before it leaves us, and packed for safe transit. If something is wrong when your work arrives, we will make it right. Please review the policies below for the situations we cover and how to reach us.

Damaged in Transit

Contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and clear photographs of the damage and the packaging. We will replace the work at no cost or issue a full refund, at your preference.

Please retain all packaging materials until the matter is resolved — carriers often require photos of the box, foam, and labels for damage claims.

Production Defects

If your print arrives with a manufacturing defect — banding, surface flaw, framing error, incorrect finish, color shift outside our calibration tolerance — contact us within 14 days of delivery. We will reproduce the work or issue a full refund.

Minor variations between prints within an edition, slight differences from on-screen color due to monitor calibration, and the natural texture of fine-art papers are inherent to fine-art printmaking and are not considered defects.

Wrong Item Received

If you receive a different work, size, finish, or framing than what you ordered, contact us within 90 days of delivery. We will arrange to retrieve the incorrect item at our cost and produce the correct piece on priority.

Lost in Transit

If tracking shows your shipment as delivered but you have not received it, please first check with neighbors, building management, and the carrier — most "missing" packages turn up within 48 hours. If it does not appear, contact us within 7 days of the marked delivery date and we will open a carrier investigation.

For shipments that never arrive (no delivery scan), we will reproduce and reship the work at our cost once the carrier confirms the loss.

Address Errors & Refused Deliveries

Please review your shipping address carefully at checkout. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, refused delivery, or unclaimed pickup, we will contact you to arrange reshipment at your cost. If you do not respond within 30 days, the order will be cancelled and refunded less original shipping and a 35% restocking fee for production costs.

Change of Mind

Because every edition is produced to order, we cannot accept returns for change of mind, wrong size selection, or decor mismatch. If you are uncertain about size or finish, we recommend ordering a Print Only in the smallest size first, or reaching out before purchasing — we are happy to discuss scale, paper, and framing options.

International Orders

The same coverage applies to international orders for damage, defects, wrong items, and loss in transit. International return shipping must be coordinated with us in advance — please do not ship anything back without prior authorization, as customs delays and reimport duties can complicate handling. Customs duties and import taxes paid by you on the original shipment are not refundable by us; you may be eligible to recover them from your local customs authority on a returned shipment.

Gift Orders

For orders shipped as gifts, the recipient may contact us directly with the order number and shipping address. Replacements and refunds are processed back to the original payment method or, where appropriate, issued as a store credit at the recipient's option.

Return Process

Email orders@photoandcraft.com with your order number, the issue, and clear photographs of the work and packaging where applicable.

We respond within 1 business day with a return authorization, prepaid shipping label (for domestic returns covering damaged, defective, or wrong-item issues), and packing instructions.

3.

Pack the work securely in its original packaging — including any foam, corner protectors, or crating — and ship within 7 days of receiving the return label. If your order contained multiple framed works, note which specific item(s) you're returning — each piece ships and returns separately.

4.

Once received and inspected, refunds are processed within 5 business days back to the original payment method. Replacement prints enter production immediately and ship on priority.

Refund Timing & Method

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 business days of our receiving and inspecting the returned work, or within 5 business days of approval for cases where the work is not returned (lost in transit, prepaid replacements, etc.). Depending on your bank or card issuer, the refund may take an additional 3–10 business days to appear on your statement.

Original shipping charges are refunded only when the return results from our error (damaged, defective, or wrong item).
