Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering, printing, framing, and shipping.

Printing & Paper

What paper do you print on?

All editions are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag — a 100% cotton, 308gsm archival matte paper trusted by museums and fine art publishers around the world. It's acid-free, lignin-free, and certified for over 100 years of lightfastness with our archival pigment inks under normal display conditions with UV-protective glazing.

What kind of printer do you use?

We print on professional Canon wide-format printers using archival pigment inks. Every printer is regularly calibrated, and each print is hand-inspected under calibrated lighting before framing or shipping.

How long will a print last?

Our combination of archival pigment inks and 100% cotton paper is certified to maintain color accuracy for over 100 years under proper display conditions with UV-protective glazing. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity for maximum longevity.

What's the difference between Borders and Full Bleed?

Borders features a 2" white border surrounding the print for a classic gallery presentation. Full Bleed prints edge-to-edge for a more contemporary look. Both configurations are mounted to archival board and held off the glazing by a precision spacer — a shadow-box style presentation that gives the print room to breathe inside the frame. Both include the same hand-built hardwood frame and conservation acrylic glazing.

Sizes

What sizes are available?

We offer four size tiers across three configurations. All dimensions listed are the finished outside frame measurement:

Borders

Small — 19 × 26"
Medium — 27 × 38"
Large — 33 × 47"
Gallery — 41 × 59"

Full Bleed

Small — 17 × 25"
Medium — 25 × 37"
Large — 31 × 46"
Gallery — 41 × 61"

Print Only

Small — 16 × 24"
Medium — 24 × 36"
Large — 30 × 45"
Gallery — 40 × 60"

Do you offer custom sizes?

Custom sizing is available for Trade Program members and may be available on request for collectors working on specific projects. Email us to discuss your needs.

How do I know what size to order?

The dimensions on our site represent the outside measurement of the finished frame — this is what you'd measure on your wall. If you're unsure, we recommend starting with a Print Only in the smallest size. This lets you evaluate the image in your space before committing to a large framed edition.

Framing

What frame options are available?

What type of glazing do you use?

All framed editions include UV-protective conservation acrylic glazing that blocks 99% of UV light while maintaining optical clarity. Acrylic is lighter and safer for shipping than traditional glass, and provides superior protection against fading.

How is the print mounted in the frame?

Every print is mounted to archival board and held off the glazing by a precision spacer — a shadow-box style construction. This gives the print room to breathe inside the frame, prevents any contact between paper and glazing, and keeps the work flat and stable for the long term.

Do framed prints arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Every framed work comes with professional-grade D-ring hangers and a metal z-bar cleat. Bumper pads are per-installed on the back corners to protect your wall. Just unbox and hang.

Editions & Authenticity

Are these limited editions?

Yes. Every work is produced as a strictly limited edition. Edition sizes are stated on each product page and are permanently maintained. Once an edition sells out, it will never be reprinted.

Do you include a certificate of authenticity?

Every edition ships with a certificate of authenticity, hand-signed by the artist, documenting the title, artist name, edition number, paper, and date of production. The certificate is your record of the work's provenance.

Are the prints signed?

No the actual print does not have a signature on the front. Each edition includes a hand-signed certificate of authenticity from the artist, documenting the title, edition number, and provenance of the work. The certificate accompanies every piece — framed or unframed.

Ordering & Payment

How do I place an order?

Browse our editions, select your preferred configuration, size, and frame finish, then click "Add to Cart." Proceed through our secure checkout to complete your purchase. You'll receive an order confirmation email immediately and a shipping notification when your edition leaves our studio.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. All transactions are SSL encrypted and processed securely.

Can I cancel or modify my order?

Since every edition is produced to order, we begin production quickly. Contact us at orders@photoandcraft.com as soon as possible. If production hasn't started, we can modify or cancel. Once printing begins, changes are no longer possible.

Shipping & Delivery

How long does production take?

Each piece is made to order in our San Francisco studio. Please allow 8–12 business days for production, plus shipping time. Rush production is available on request — email orders@photoandcraft.com before placing your order.

Is shipping free?

Print Only orders ship complimentary within the United States — no minimum required.

Framed works ship at a flat rate per piece based on size tier, shown at checkout. Rates are the same regardless of US destination.

International shipping is quoted individually — you'll see a $0 placeholder at checkout and we'll email you a custom shipping quote with insurance included within 24 hours. All shipments are fully insured.

How are prints packaged?

Print Only — each print is carefully rolled with archival interleaving paper and shipped in a rigid mailing tube. The 308gsm cotton paper relaxes flat naturally once unrolled — lay it flat under light weight for 24 hours before framing, or bring it to your framer shortly after arrival for the best result.

Framed — every framed work ships in a custom-built wooden crate with a foam-lined interior and suspension packaging that isolates the piece from vibration in transit. Each crate is built specifically for the work it carries — same level of protection whether it's a Small or a Gallery edition.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to select countries including Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, and most of Latin America. International shipping is quoted individually — at checkout you'll see a $0 placeholder, and within 24 hours we'll email you a custom shipping quote with insurance included for your approval. Production begins once the quote is accepted. Customs duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are the recipient's responsibility. Delivery typically takes 10–21 business days after production. See our Shipping & Handling page for details.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Contact us within 14 days of delivery at orders@photoandcraft.com with photos of the damage and your order number. We will replace the work at no charge or issue a full refund — your choice. See our Return Policy for full details.

Returns

Can I return a print?

For damage or defect: yes, within 14 days of delivery — we replace or refund at no cost. For wrong items received: within 90 days of delivery. For change of mind: because every edition is produced to order specifically for you, we cannot accept returns for wrong size, color preference, or decor mismatch.

Do you offer exchanges?

We don't offer direct exchanges. Every print is made to order to your specifications. If you have a custom request for something, email us at orders@photoandcraft.com and we will see if we can accomodate your needs. See our Return Policy for the full process.

Care & Display

How should I care for my print?

Framed editions require minimal care. Dust the glazing occasionally with a soft, lint-free, microfiber cloth. Use only acrylic plastic liquid cleaner and a microfiber cloth on the front of the acrylic. Avoid direct sunlight, high humidity, and proximity to heat sources. Our UV-protective glazing blocks 99% of UV light, but no glazing eliminates UV exposure entirely — indirect light is always best for fine art.

Can I hang my print in a bathroom or kitchen?

We don't recommend hanging fine art prints in high-humidity environments like bathrooms or above stoves. Prolonged moisture exposure can affect the paper and framing materials over time, even with archival construction.

How should I store an unframed print?

Your print can safely be stored long-term in the tube and archival packaging it arrived in — keep it horizontal in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and avoid stacking heavy objects on top. If you'd prefer to store it unrolled, lay it flat between sheets of archival paper or in a flat archival portfolio. When you're ready to frame, bring the print to a professional framer who uses acid-free materials.
